You would think that a machine that was supposed to make things fast and easy would have more things to make repetitive work fast and easy lol. :laughing

I got ready to start making the hood pivot pins this morning and found the above quote again... Well,,, I hadn't done any repetitive work on the smaller shearing section so here we go making another stop lol. :laughing

I like shearing the round stock on the separate shearing attachment because it makes a really nice cut on the cold rolled round stock without putting a flat spot on it, but there is no stop for repetitive work of course. I had an old 3/4" rod cut out of a tractor frame in my pile, and some angle iron that dad found at the farm and brought up a few months ago that I used to make a longer stop to reach the separate shearing section. I'm always using this stuff that peeps and dad tell me I shouldn't keep but then every time I turn around I'm using the stuff... It makes it a lot harder to quit keeping stuff. :tounge2

Anyway,,, now I have a removable adjustable stop that works on the main shear stop rod and reaches over there. When the separate shearing section shears it moves the sheared piece down so I just moved the foot pedal and worked on that end and put them in a pile as they are sheared. It took a little time to make the stop but it was worth the time for all of the parts we make here. With the new stop I sheared 20 of the rods in less than 2 minutes. :smile2

Here are some pics of the details in case someone else wants to make something like this or get ideas from it. :thumb
