Repairing lamp socket broken wires

Here is an easy way to repair the broken wires on your lamp sockets. :)

All you need is a soldering iron, a small holder is nice, some heat shrink and some wire. New ones are only $4 from the parts houses (made in China of course) but I don't think they'll last, or look as good as these 50 year old ones in a short time...

All you have to do is solder to what is left of the old wire and try to intermingle the 2 in a straight line. If there is no wire left, you can solder directly to the connector. Just try to keep it as straight as you can so the spring can move freely.
