You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

Somebody would cut them.....I have only seen Spanish coins that were cut up..... I have never seen any U.S. coins cut but that doesn't mean they weren't.Geno wrote: Were they made that way or did someone cut them up to make smaller amounts of money?
You have most likely seen some cowboy movies where they would buy a drink and pay by bits...4 bits a dollar.

Can you tell me any of the history of your dads house...like anybody famous live there or stay there at anytime or anything happen there that I may of heard of.Geno wrote: Dad's would be better, the house is over 200 years old.
It looks like a great place from what I could see in the pictures....lots of chimney's lot of open ground.
I guess I have way to many questions or maybe I am being to nosey but I have been talking to a owner of a farm here that has been in his family since 1807 and he still lives there.....plus there are several family grave yards and one slave grave yard......neat stuff even if I don't get permission to dig there.

The house was built by President Buchanan, before he became president. If I remember right, I'll have to double check with Dad, he built it as a wedding present for a cousin of his.
