Well I started this in the old forum so I thought I'd do it again. What wheel horses (and it can be other tractors too :) ) Be sure to include what attachments you will be using, what type of tractor, and also if you have anything else to add.

I'll be using my raider 12 (now a 16 :woo ) with a tiller, and a 42 or 48 inch deck I can't remember. Don't worry I'll see if I can get a pic of it w/ the mower.

Remember, we want pics!!! :pics1

OK I'll play,

I maintain about 4 acres of lawn. That is way too much for my 520H's. I use a pair of Ford's. My main mower is a 1955 660 with a Woods 6 ft 3 point finish mower. This is a dream to mow with, it has power steering and live PTO and hydraulics. My back up is a 1950 8N with a 6ft Wood belly mower. Not a bad tractor at all

I have a pair of 520H's that do trimming. That service is about a hour a week, so it's not minor. I'll have to get some pics.

Thanks guys, That 8N belly mower is a bit rare, but they are out there. It took me two years to find it and it was 300 miles away. Well worth the trip. Woods made 5ft and 6ft belly mowers with mounting kits for various tractors. The 5 foot is more common, mine is a 6 foot. Mowing with it is just like a larger Wheel Horse. Its amazing how much faster it is mowing with a 6ft mower. It cut my time in half. The only down side is that it is not as maneuverable. Strange thing - I burn less gas with the 8N than with my 520H and the 8N is quieter. I love the sound of old Ford flat heads.

I've never seen anything eat gas like a 520. My Escalade with a trailer load of tractors gets better mileage. :rolling

Geno, gas mileage is about my only complaint on my 520H's, that is until the dreaded valve seat bites.

GT. Engine RPM at PTO speed (540 rpm) is about 1800. That is about peak torque for an 8N. Funny thing is that the engine is only about 24HP. Not much more than a 520H, but the torque must be at least double. That belly mower is easy duty for an 8N in normal grass.
